Growing The Liverpool Way in Windsor

Windsor, ON, April 27, 2017 — Liverpool FC International Academy- Michigan (LFCIA-MI) and Caboto Soccer Club (Caboto SC) are excited to announce that they are partnering to create a program where the top competitive Caboto SC boys and girls teams ages U8-U12 will transition to and play for LFCIA-MI under the leadership of the Director of Coaching for Windsor, Roberto Mazza.  These teams will have access to and play in the competitive leagues and tournaments in Southeast Michigan starting fall 2017.

The partnership also means that these select teams will be trained under a proven individual player development program with coaches who have access to the proprietary curriculum of Liverpool FC International Academy (UK) and the world-wide resources that come with being part of the LFC International Academy America system.

“This completes the pathway from recreational to competitive to premier level soccer,” said Egidio Mosca, President of Caboto SC, “and we’re excited to offer this opportunity to our best young players.  We share Liverpool’s emphasis on individual technical development.   In the end, putting a badge on the sleeve to gain access to the leagues in Michigan isn’t enough.  Our kids deserve more here in Windsor, including great coaches and coaching resources and a structured development methodology.  We are confident that we will accomplish this.  We also have a great relationship with Coach Mazza and Andy Wagstaff (President of LFCIA- MI), so we know and respect the people we are partnering with.”

“We’re really happy to be forming this relationship” added Roberto Mazza.  “Egidio has great passion for the game and a strong reputation in our community for his leadership and his compassion for his players and their development.  He’s opening another door for players wishing to play at a higher level and we’re grateful to be a part of that.”

Andy Wagstaff commented: "We have been extremely happy with the Club’s development in Windsor under Roberto’s leadership, so I was pleased when he and Egidio approached me with this idea.  Joining forces with Caboto will enhance that progress and quality to another level. We cannot wait to start working together to help the Windsor community and surrounding areas embrace this fantastic club and help all of our players develop under the guidance of LFC International Academy.”

The Liverpool FC International Academy system is a growing network of soccer academies that operates worldwide.  In addition to having access to the curriculum — which includes online training sessions developed by Liverpool International Academy coaches around the world — the program involves regular interaction with the International Academy coaches in England.  There are additional opportunities for coaching education sessions in Michigan and at The Academy in Liverpool, as well as LFC International Academy (UK) coaches coming to Michigan to work with club players and coaches at an annual LFC IA summer camp.

LFCIA-MI operates as a premier soccer academy based out of Pontiac (Ultimate Soccer Arenas) and Bloomfield Hills and has additional sites in Ann Arbor, Clarkston, Ferndale and Windsor.  Tryouts for the LFCIA-MI Windsor location will be held June 17th & 18th.  More information on LFCIA-MI at liverpoolfcamerica-mi.com and Caboto Soccer Club at cabotosoccer.com.
